Assistant Lifeguard

Up to 10 Casual Positions
 
Saanich Commonwealth Place is seeking multiple Assistant Lifeguards to provide supplemental supervision of activities in the water while promoting a friendly and enjoyable recreational atmosphere.  This important role will also assist in emergency situations under the direction of a lifeguard or team leader. 
 
Requirements for this position:  Minimum age of 15 years old; Bronze Cross (current within 2 years; and current Standard First Aid / CPRC (SFA/CPR-C) award.  Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory police information check with vulnerable sector check (PIC-VS).  Renewal of PIC-VS is required per policy.
 
The successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends and nights (hours/shifts are subject to change).
 
These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $22.86 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
